Amie Kent, MD

“As thoracic surgeons, we have the privilege to make a difference in patients’ lives, not only from the technical aspect of the operation, but also through a collaborative approach to patient care with an excellent team.  My teachers and mentors have laid a solid foundation for me to build on over the years, which has been extremely important in my first few years as I grow a practice.”

Dr. Amie Kent is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Associate Program Director for the Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program at NYU Langone Health.  Her post-graduate training was completed at Northwell Health in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery, with a year of training spent at Lenox Hill Hospital in Advanced Minimally Invasive Robotic Thoracic Oncology.

As highlighted in her nomination by Alexandrea Jared, PA:

“Dr. Amie Kent is a phenomenal thoracic surgeon. She is described by my team as the “type of doctor I would want my family to have.” She has helped pioneer robotic surgery at Bellevue Hospital NYC, and was the first thoracic surgeon to perform robotic lung resection at Manhattan VA Hospital. She takes care of EVERY aspect of her patients’ health and meticulously does not let one detail go amiss. On top of her many responsibilities, she is also    working hard to start  a lung cancer screening program for NYC’s Bellevue Hospital patients. She deserves this nomination and so much more.”

Dr. Kent was also nominated by Thomas Kent:

“Aimee Kent treats all parts of her life at home or treating patients with compassion and expert care.”
