The WTS in partnership with the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) and the Korean Women in Thoracic Surgery is proud to announce the inaugural WTS International Traveling Fellowship.

The purpose of this fellowship is to encourage international exchange of surgical information, enhance networking, mentorship and professional development for women in thoracic surgery. This fellowship will be awarded to cardiothoracic surgeons in countries other than the US and Canada and preference will be given to applicants from developing countries. The scholarship, in the amount up to $12,000 each, provides the fellow with an opportunity to visit female cardiothoracic surgeons in the US or Canada and participate in their clinical, teaching and research activities. It will also allow the fellow to attend and participate in the educational opportunities and activities of the AATS Annual Meeting.

If you know a woman cardiothoracic surgeon, who would like to travel to the US or Canada to enrich her surgical career, please forward this e-mail and encourage her to apply today.
